Karen is an experienced child rights and safety specialist, with over 10 years experience in safeguarding and child protection, with safeguarding leadership roles at the LEGO Group and the National Crime Agency. Karen brings strong expertise in developing risk assessments, and implementing strategies, policies, and processes that strengthen protections for children. Karen is skilled in driving organisational change through cultural shifts, building safeguarding capacity, and collaborating with influential stakeholders. Karen is passionate about creating opportunities to enable safe and meaningful participation for children and young people, and advocating for their voices to be heard in decision making.
Karen holds a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Edinburgh, and brings operational experience gained as a front-line child protection social worker in London, grounding her practice in both lived realities and systemic change
